We wanted to let you know that ACESocial, along with business partners across many industries, continues to confront frustration as we attempt to work with Facebook to resolve the issue of posting to Facebook from ACE. The problem occurred because Facebook erroneously turned off the ACE application that manages the social posts as well as the ability to login to ACESocial using Facebook. (This issue is affecting many companies that are trying to use Facebook Apps.) While we have no doubt that this will be resolved, we do appreciate that our users would like to return to posting content and listings to Facebook as soon as possible. In the interim we have adjusted ACE to allow for manual posting of branded content as well as these steps to set up scheduled content in advance.
We also want to remind our users that this has not affected posting to LinkedIn or Twitter – nor the ACESocial Video app for Instagram for those users who have that feature, nor any other ACESocial features. ACESocial is still posting automatically to LinkedIn and Twitter and the option to manually post to LinkedIn and Twitter from the Exclusive Content library remains fully functional.
Below are instructions on how to manually schedule a post or several posts to your Facebook business Page using tools from Facebook itself. With these steps users could schedule one or many posts in advance. Some users may have Facebook Pages that are the older Classic Pages while most have moved to the New Page Experience. Here are instructions and video for New Page Experience, those on Classic Page will be similar. (We also offer these steps on how to manually post branded content to Facebook right now.)
For those who are on the New Page Experience
- Log into Facebook, and click your profile photo at the top right.
- A menu will open below, click See all Profiles, then select the Page you want to switch into.
- A menu will open on the left, click Meta Business Suite in the lower left.
- Click the blue “Create Post” button, the Create Post form will open,
- Open a new tab in your browser and log into your ACE account
- In ACE there are two places you can find content to select from, visit either
- Exclusive Content library
- Trending Content – shown by clicking Dashboard.
- From Tending or Exclusive Content click “Preview” on an article that you’d like to schedule to post.
- The article will open, look near top and copy the full url of the preview page. This is your unique URL;
- Return to your Facebook tab, your Create Post form should still be open.
- Look at the “Post to” area, if you have more than one FB Page click the drop down arrow and select ONE page. (More than one page will not work.)
- Look below the ‘Text” box and click the link icon, past the URL that you copied from ACE
- You will see a preview of the post populate on the right hand side.
- Optionally add a social intro in the Text area.
- Look at the “Scheduling options” form and click “Schedule”.
- Select a date and time. You can schedule posts to publish in 20 minutes up to 75 days away.
- Click Schedule to set the options.
- You will see the post scheduled on your calendar.
