If you are having difficulty posting videos from the ACESocial Video app to Instagram please try these steps:

For those with multiple Instagram accounts, please confirm that you are posting to the correct Instagram account 

  • Open the Instagram app on your phone.
  • Look to the lower right corner and tap your encircled profile picture or tap the circle if you have not added a profile picture to your Instagram account.
  • Look to the top left of the screen – if you are not seeing the name of the profile you want to post to then tap your username.
  • Select the account you’d like to post to.

Do you have the latest version of the ACESocial Video app?

We want to be sure you have the latest version of the ACESocial Video app.  By default many apps from both Apple Store and Google Play will update automatically when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi.    You might also want to check that you have automatic updates ‘ON’ in your settings, here’s how: 

First, close the ACESocial Video app on your mobile device:

  • iPhone:
    • Swipe up from bottom to middle of the screen.  Scroll left or right until you see the ACESocial Video app. Swipe up to close the app.
  • Android
    • Pixel – Swipe up and swipe on the app to quit the app.
    • Other devices with buttons – Tap ‘Recents’ button and similar swipe effect (Some are swipe up,some are swipe left or right) 

Confirm that you have the update:

  • iPhone
    • Open the App Store.
    • Tap the your profile icon at the top right.
    • Scroll down to see any pending updates.  If you see an ACESocial Video app with the word ‘Update’ near it, click ‘Update’ to force an immediate update.
    • You can also check the Settings > App Store > Automatic Downloads and set Automatic Updates to ‘ON’.
  • Android 
    • You can manually force an update by opening the Google Play app
    • Click your profile icon a top right
    • Tap Manage App & device.  If you see ACESocial with “Update Available”, please tap Update.
    • From the Google Play Store app may also want to check that you have automatic updates ‘ON’.  Tap your profile icon > Settings > Network Preferences > Auto-update apps > Select an option, over Wi-Fi & Mobile, or only over Wi-Fi.

Next, reopen the ACESocial Video app.  

  • You should not need a new login code but if it has been a while you might need to get a new login code.  To get a new login code please open your computer and go to the Settings > Instagram area of  ACE account.  At bottom check the terms box, enter any email address, click Submit and a new code will pop up. Enter the new code at the login screen of the ACESocial Video app.

Now try posting a video to your Instagram account.

  • Note:  Instagram recently shortened the time limits for videos that can be used for stories to about 20 seconds.  Since our videos are just under a minute you might not be able to use these videos as stories.

If you are still unable to post to your Instagram from the ACESocial Video app we would very much appreciate if you could let us know this information.  Please use the Submit Support Request form in the Help area to tell us:

  • What type of mobile device you are using (iPhone XR, iPhone 12, Samsung Galaxy S21,  Google Pixel 5, etc) 
  • Can you tell us more specifics when you try to post?   (Example: I open the app, click “Share”, the download window opens and spins but I never see the next step.)
  • Are you on a Wi-Fi network or cellular?
  • Do you recall the title of the video that you are trying to share?
  • In the lower right of the ACESocial video app, please click the person icon. Next look to the top left of the screen above your first name, do you see a version number?  Like 2.2.2 +27.  If you see a version number please let us know what number you see, or if you do not see any number at all.
