RISMEDIA, April 26, 2007-An agreement has been reached for RE/MAX International to purchase the independently owned regions of RE/MAX of Florida and RE/MAX Carolina. Together, the two regions will represent an addition of 420 offices and over 10,000 agents to the RE/MAX company owned region operations. Combined with the February acquisition of RE/MAX of California & Hawaii, 2007 will mark the single greatest year of growth for RE/MAX company owned regions.

Don Hachenberger and Glenda Hachenberger, the current owners of RE/MAX of Florida, have signed a purchase agreement, and transfer of the region is expected to be concluded by early June.

Don Hachenberger said, "I believe a consolidation with RE/MAX International makes good sense and will be very positive for everyone. They have experience operating regions like ours, and RE/MAX has the best regional services in the industry."

"We have enjoyed working with Don and Glenda for more than 30 years," said Dave Liniger, chairman and co-founder of RE/MAX International. "They took on an amazing challenge in 1984 and have created an impressive network of offices and sales associates. All of us at RE/MAX are very grateful for their many contributions over the years. We look forward to the opportunity to continue their legacy."

RE/MAX Carolina is owned by Don and Glenda along with Bob McWaters, who with his son Brad, also operates RE/MAX Coastal Properties in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Nick Bailey will become regional vice president of RE/MAX of Florida. Nick joined RE/MAX in 2001, and in 2004 became regional vice president of RE/MAX Central and Northern Ohio and RE/MAX Western Pennsylvania.
RE/MAX Carolina will be joining the RE/MAX Central Atlantic region. Kerron Stokes, who has been with RE/MAX International since 2002, will remain as the Regional Vice President, a position he has held since 2006.

Don Hachenberger remembers, "Thirty two years with RE/MAX. It's been an unbelievable experience, but the time is right for a change. Things may slow down somewhat, but I plan to stay involved in real estate with my individual RE/MAX offices. I'm sure that RE/MAX, in Florida and the Carolinas, will continue to be successful under the ownership of RE/MAX International."
