During the Triple Play REALTOR® Convention & Trade Expo, local REALTOR® Robert Oppenheimer, Broker-Owner of RE/MAX Fortune Properties in Englewood Cliffs and Past President of the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® (EBCBOR), was named 2016 President-Elect of New Jersey REALTORS® (NJR) a 45,000+ member Statewide association. A resident of Cliffside Park, Robert is the only Bergen County Broker on the state association’s leadership team.

Active in the real estate industry since 1985, Oppenheimer has donated his time and expertise to the REALTOR® organization at the local, state and national level. He was NJR’s 2015 First-Vice President ® and has served on numerous committees and working groups including: Vice Chair Risk Management & License Law Committee and Legislative/Political Affairs Committee. In 2014 and 2015 he was on the Federal Financing & Housing Policy Committee and Certified International Property Specialist Advisory Board for the National Association of REALTORS®.

As President-Elect, Oppenheimer will participate at all levels of the association’s decision-making process, represent the association at important meetings and business functions, and serve as a spokesperson for the association on various real estate industry-related matters. Oppenheimer along with his fellow members of the 2016 NJR Leadership team will regularly meet with state and national legislators and remain at the forefront of homeownership advocacy.

Oppenheimer is a graduate of New York University and has earned three REALTOR® designations; The Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Residential Specialist and the coveted Certified International Property Specialist which is held than less than 25 professionals statewide. This educational background has provided Oppenheimer with a keen and specialized knowledge that greatly helps his clients navigate their buying and selling process with ease. He has consistently attained the RE/MAX Platinum Award for the high sales production that he and his team conclude every year. Active in his local community, he has served as a Carlyle Towers Condo Association Board Member for 8 years and while living in Winston Towers served on its Board.

In 2005 and 2009, Oppenheimer has served 2 terms as President of the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS®, headquartered in Hasbrouck Heights, as well as serving as chairman of various local committees. He helped to organize and launch the association’s first Broker Risk Management committee which hosts regular broker training sessions and networking events. Additionally he has served as a Director for the NJ Multiple Listing Service.

Over the course of his career, he has consistently shown a true passion of advocacy for his clients and all future homeowners. Oppenheimer is dedicated to grassroots advocacy, he is a Major Investor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). At the National level, Oppenheimer serves as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Scott Garrett. He was instrumental in organizing EBCBOR’S first annual Mayoral Panel in 2014 and continues to assist the local association as a legislative affairs liaison.

In 2010, he was named EBCBOR REALTOR® of the Year. Most recently, Oppenheimer received the 2014 Distinguished Service Award from RE/MAX of New Jersey. Due the success of his real estate career and commitment to the industry, he has also won the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
