It’s cuffing season in Canada, and that means we’re all doing our best to avoid the outside chill. While holidays make the cold weather bearable, the in-between days can be depressing. But if you embrace staying indoors, you’ll find there is plenty to enjoy without taking a step outside your home.
Use that streaming subscription. All summer long you heard you should be watching this show or that one. Well now that you’re home more, it’s time to get caught up. There is plenty of quality TV calling your name, just waiting for you to spend the weekend binging shows and movies.
Make all the warm food. Did you have an Instant Pot? Well winter is the best time to use it. Soups, stews and hot beverages are waiting to warm you up. What’s better than standing at your window as the snow falls, wrapped in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa? Maybe winter isn’t so bad.
Knit a chunky blanket. The chunky blanket trend lives on. But rather than spending $500 for one of these Pinterest darlings, consider buying the oversized yarn and needles and learning how to knit one for yourself. You’ll save a ton of money and learn a new skill while you’re at it. And when you post it on Instagram, all your friends will ask you to make them one too.
Turn your bathtub into a home spa. Even the biggest winter Grinch can enjoy the one thing it brings for homebodies—bath season. Make it extra special by investing in a good bath pillow, scented bath bombs, Epson salts, candles, a bottle of wine and a good book. A home spa is the ultimate in luxury and it’s right there, in your own home, waiting for you every night. All you have to do is invest in a few items and make it your own.
