Bathrooms in Canada get a lot of attention from prospective buyers, especially in a luxury home. Here’s how to stage yours to make it feel as close to a five-star hotel as possible.
Display crisp, white towels. Using white towels on a daily basis might not be the most practical option, but when you’re staging your luxury property to sell, some artfully placed, hotel-quality towels that are white and fluffy can really set the mood. Whether they’re rolled and displayed in a basket, or hung decoratively with matching facecloths, white towels are a great way to give your bathroom that high-end hotel feel.
Upgrade hardware. Consider updating your bathroom fixtures and hardware so they are cohesive and upscale. Simple gold fixtures are very popular right now and make a big impact, but brushed chrome or matte black can add an element of luxury as well.
Add greenery or flowers. The bathroom isn’t traditionally a place that gets much light in most homes, so it’s not always a great place to house your plants. For short-term staging, however, adding a seasonal bouquet or some manicured greenery can uplift any bathroom. Consider placing a delicate orchid on the counter or some small succulents elsewhere.
Go monochrome with textiles. However you want to decorate your bathroom for your own use is nobody’s business. A dramatic floral shower curtain? Great! A citrus-hued abstract painting over the toilet? Do it! When you’re staging for buyers, however, it’s best to keep textiles and accessories neutral and as monochrome as possible. That might mean opting for a simple white, hotel-grade shower curtain or a set of matching ivory bath towels. Let your buyers appreciate the hotel-like simplicity and imagine their own belongings in the space.
