If you’ve been practicing real estate for a few years now, there’s one thing that’s been made clear: Things are always changing. While the customer relationship remains as the top priority, how you compete with other agents is drastically different than it was just 10 or even five years ago. That’s why it’s important to stay on top of these changing innovations in order to maintain a competitive edge. Here’s what’s trending today:
Interactive Innovations
The younger generations are coming into the field full-force in hopes of achieving the homeownership dream. So, this week, take a look at some of the tech innovations that are flooding the markets in order to attract more consumer attention by getting them involved. For-sale signs, for example, have gotten a lot more complex. Some work in tandem with an app that can give them a home tour without even stepping foot inside the home!
Vivacious Video
A strong and trusted client-agent relationship is what today’s consumers are craving. How is that built? It starts with personality. Homebuyers want to work with someone they find relatable, and who they can trust on a human level. What better way to show them your value than by featuring yourself on video? Take them on virtual home tours or just provide some fun, educational content. The more you stand out as relatable, yet professional, the more they’ll want to work with you.
Social Savvy
It’s almost expected that today’s service professionals have a powerful social media presence, but that’s not enough anymore. As an agent, you need to step up your social game. Today, consumers are overwhelmed by the amount of content they see on a daily basis on all the popular sites: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. That’s why it’s important you’re not just posting your listings or other business outreach content. Keep it light while also introducing variety. Photos, videos, polls, giveaways…the more consistent and varied you are, the more activity you’ll get on your page.
You’ll notice the client relationship stays at the center of all these trends. Keep that in mind as you move toward a new business model that embraces the changes happening in real estate. But don’t blink twice, or you’ll miss the next big innovation!
