Here are some DIY-friendly plumbing projects you can tackle yourself.
Install a Dishwasher or Toilet
The hardest part of installing a dishwasher or toilet is physically moving it to its designated spot. Once in place, most installations are fairly seamless if you have basic handyman skills and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prep Your Pipes
During the cold winter months, exposed pipes could freeze and burst. Avoid a costly emergency call to a plumber by simply wrapping your pipes in foam insulation.
Install a Garbage Disposal
With a little help from a family member or roommate, garbage-disposal installation becomes an easily accomplished task for the self-appointed handyman in your household.
Change Your Showerhead
Simply turn your showerhead clockwise to unscrew it from the discharge pipe. Once you’ve removed it, wrap Teflon tape clockwise on the pipe and add the new showerhead.
