Spring is almost upon us, bringing with it a renewed spirit of cooperation and innovation across the real estate industry. For the past couple years, you may have heard Upstream discussed in the media and at conferences. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit more about who is behind Upstream, how it will benefit the industry and the role of CoreLogic® in the project.
What Is Upstream?
Upstream is a new data management solution for brokers. As everyone familiar with real estate knows, our industry requires brokers to enter the same data into a multitude of different software systems. The agent headshot, for example, is used in countless locations, including the MLS system, CRM and transaction management systems, CMAs, flyers, mobile apps, websites for the franchise, broker and agent, plus hundreds of local and national consumer search sites. The goal of Upstream is to create a unified repository where brokers enter their data once and then automatically distribute it to all other authorized systems. The power and efficiency of Upstream will enable brokers to onboard and launch new technology partners in just minutes.
Who Is UpstreamRE?
Established to serve real estate brokerages of all sizes, UpstreamRE is the broker data management company behind the Upstream project. Alex Lange is the CEO of UpstreamRE. Its board of managers are all executives from participating brokerages, including representatives from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Coldwell Banker, Keller Williams, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World®, The Realty Alliance, RE/MAX and non-affiliated independent brokerages. Upstream has no profit motive, and brokers do not receive a dividend for participation on the board of managers. Truly, UpstreamRE is a grassroots organization that spans the industry.
CoreLogic’s Role
